Melanie Anderson grew up in Miami, FL and attended University of Florida for her undergraduate and veterinary degrees. She graduated from veterinary school in 2013 and moved back to Miami to work in small animal general practice. During her time in private practice, she developed a strong interest in diagnostic imaging and after 4 years she decided to pivot towards a specialty in radiology and moved to Denver, CO for a rotating internship at VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital. She was then accepted to a residency program at University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. She finished her residency in 2022 and moved back to Colorado where she works in teleradiology full time for Vets Choice Radiology and does part time teaching in private practice and academia. She has been a speaker at conferences and in a private setting to help train general practitioners in using ultrasound in practice. In between her radiology shifts, she enjoys taking trips her in her RV with her husband, John, her dog, Penny, and her one-eyed cat, Cow. She also enjoys skiing in the winter and spends her summers traveling, hiking, camping, and paddleboarding.
