Maggie Smith, LVT, CVPM

Maggie started her career in VetMed in 2001 as a receptionist & kennel assistant. She loved the field so much she went back to school & got her LVT degree in 2009 from Baker College of Flint. As she took on more responsibility, she become a Head LVT and eventually, a Practice Manager. In 2022 she completed the qualification requirements & sat for the exam to become a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager.
Maggie has a passion for supporting the people who work in veterinary medicine with specific interests in the areas of DEIB & mental health. In her personal time she enjoys being outside, kicking butt in karaoke, and spending time with her plants. Her son, Caleb, graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2022 & lives in Milwaukee, WI where he works his big boy job. Maggie lives in Portland with her partner, 3 cats (Penny, Jane, & Eleanor) & ball python, Weasley. She is a member of PrideVMC & sits on the MVMA DEI Committee.
