Are you aware of someone illegally practicing veterinary medicine in your area?

The Michigan Veterinary Medical Association receives frequent reports from members about the unlicensed practice of veterinary medicine in their areas of the state and the harm it can cause to animals. A recent survey of the membership indicated this problem is fairly widespread.

As a member service, MVMA is willing to assist in contacting these entities with a letter letting them know that they are violating Michigan laws by practicing veterinary medicine without a license. The letter would be sent with an additional letter from the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development expanding on information related to illegal practice. MVMA members who are aware of illegal practice in their area can confidentially report these activities by filling out the Illegal Practice Report Form. MVMA will follow up by making these individuals aware that they are violating the law and may be committing a felony.
